Discount + good recent reviews: how we decide

Some deals show the badge “Discount + good recent reviews”. It is information only: it says the game is discounted on Steam Italy and that the Steam reviews written in the last 30 days are mostly positive. It is not a recommendation and does not say whether the price is right for you.

The badge appears only if all these conditions are met:

• at least80% positive reviews in the last 30 days (UTC days, all languages): the same threshold Steam uses for its “Very Positive” rating;
• at least 50 reviews in those days (Steam also requires 50 for that rating), so a handful of votes is not enough;
• days with an abnormal spike of negative reviews (review bombing: the method is explained in the “Steam reviews: abnormal spikes” section of the game pages) are not counted, neither as positive nor as negative; if a spike is still under way the badge does not appear;
• review data updated no more than 3 days ago.

Recent reviews describe what the game is like now (updates, servers, performance), not what it was like at launch. The discount comes from Steam Italy prices, the reviews from Steam's public reviews API: the two are independent. A deal without the badge has not been rejected: often there simply is not enough recent data. Sources: Sources and methodology.
