GTA VI launch trailer is out: Jason and Lucia in trouble in Leonida to a track by Justice
Rockstar released the launch trailer on October 15, just over a month before the November 19 release: 90 seconds captured entirely in-game on PS5, with a new track by Justice, who wrote the original score.
It is the fourth official video for Grand Theft Auto VI, after the first trailer on December 4, 2023, the second on May 6, 2025 and the nearly 27-minute “Extended Look” on August 27, 2026. Rockstar's description sums up the premise: Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them, but when an easy score goes wrong they find themselves on the darker side of America's sunniest place, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever to get out alive (paraphrased).
The trailer adds a few pieces to the story. Jason works at a marina and gets a phone call from Lucia, who seems to still be in prison; in a later scene she wears an ankle monitor, the same one seen in one of the official illustrations. There are also intimate moments between the two protagonists, whose relationship is the heart of the game.
Then there is the action: Jason wades through swampy water with some companions, carrying high-tech gear and night-vision goggles; elsewhere two armed figures in pink balaclavas appear, along with a packed Vice City beach buzzed by a low-flying plane. A dog wearing a pair of protective goggles also shows up. At the start a sign points to The Keys and, in the background, a road sign leads to Goose Key, a nod to Top Gun spotted by the press.
The video's soundtrack is “Flower in a Hurricane”, the new single by French duo Justice with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar confirmed that Justice are the composers of the game's original music: the track is already out as a single and will be part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official compilation, which is also coming on vinyl and CD. Rockstar has promised more information later about the album with the actual original score.
Anticipation remains huge: by the morning of October 17, less than two days after it went up, Rockstar's post presenting the trailer on X had passed 47 million views and 450,000 likes. Grand Theft Auto VI comes out on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; the launch trailer can also be watched on Statcade's GTA 6 page.
